Beginning Tai Chi

Rising Spring offers two types of Tai Chi classes.

In Tai Chi Chuan classes you will learn a traditional Tai Chi ‘form’, a set of sequential movements that stretch and open the body.

In Tai Chi Qigong classes, you do repetitions of gentle movements for health and wellbeing. The Qigong classes may be a good option if you have a limited range of movement or are recovering from injury or surgery.

You will learn exercises that you can practise at home, these will help ease stress and encourage calm. Along with the health benefits, the practice will increase your energy and aid relaxation.

What to wear

Our classes do not use uniforms – wear comfortable clothes with a bit of stretch and you can practise with flat ‘indoor’ shoes, socks or bare feet.
